Lesley is a fibre artist with a BA(Hons) 1st class in Embroidered Textiles, Middlesex University, London, UK, and is a graduate of the Ecological Landscape Design program, at Gaia College, Royal Roads University. She holds City and Guilds of London Institute certificates in embroidery and design, a University of Calgary Certificate in Visual Design, and is a Master Knitter of Canada. She has exhibited across Canada, the USA, the UK, Germany, and South Korea.
Her current body of work focuses on the profound connection between humanity and the natural world. She utilizes familiar domestic linens such as bedsheets, and table linens, creating a tangible link between the artwork and the viewer. Lesley seeks to raise awareness about the urgency of treating our external environment with the same care and attention we give our interior homes. By encouraging mindfulness and responsibility, she believes that awareness can drive positive change.
