Artist Statement/BIO:
Since 2012 I have been a full time visual artist working with coloured pencils as my main media. My subjects are portraits and decorative botanical, large scale.
I hold a Degree in Design, a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Graduate Certification in Art Education and a Masters of Education with a focus on teaching fine arts.
I have been awarded public art commissions in both Vancouver BC and Seattle Washington for my coloured pencil portrait works, as well as extensive gallery and museum shows and exhibitions. My work has been selected two times for the prestigious Canadian Kingston Portrait Art Prize, and I have been invited by curators to show in important portrait shows nationally and internationally. I have had numerous public art speaking engagements discussing my work and the coloured pencil process with magazine and news articles written on my subjects and process.
