Artist Statement/BIO:
The underpinnings for my art practice are working with my hands and making something from nothing.

I work with textiles and fibre to create beautiful hand hooked, hand stitched, and 3D art. My textile inspired artworks and sculptures imply the subject matter rather than stating it directly, often drawing on reflections from everyday life.

In my studio practice I do a lot of sampling which is a study element where I explore design and concepts using different textile techniques and fibres, paper collage, and the expanded square.

My current work is inspired by 3D forms utilizing crocheted yarns and stitched fabrics in combination with cement, resin, and found objects.

My textile work is exhibited in Canada and the United States, including the DuLin Biennale in Quebec and the Vancouver Biennale in British Columbia.

I work from my studio in Victoria on Vancouver Island.
