aly de la cruz yip (they, them) is a queer multi-disciplinary artist, a child of working class / poor migrant and immigrant settlers, born and raised on the stolen and unceded lands of the sḵwx̱wú7mesh, sel̓íl̓witulh, and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm nations. aly strives to unlearn colonial violence, practicing moving gently and fiercely as a guest on these territories that nourish and sustain them and their family. aly's work explores gender chaos, chronic illness, diasporic feels, and intergenerational trauma and joy through a variety of media. their art practice is informed and supported by the embodied modalities of mindfulness, printmaking, and clown. aly has had work commissioned and exhibited locally by Gallery Gachet, Artspeak + moniker press, and grunt gallery. aly's work has also been published by print magazines Border Crossings and ROOM.
