Penny Eisenberg is a Canadian painter working within the tradition of representational art, while simultaneously exploring and playing with the  inherent abstraction of the oil paint medium and image making in the 21st century. penny has explored different themes, landscapes, still lives, urbanscapes, interiors and figures focusing on ideas around how paint and representation interact, intersect and diverge. her current paintings are contemporary impressionist urban landscapes. penny was born and raised in Montreal, graduated from Emily Carr University in 1995, and maintains her studio practice in east Vancouver. her work is widely collected.
